If you guys can't get some combo of components working I'd suggest taking the board out of the case and running it while on top of a piece of cardboard. The BP6 is notorious for having the row of system switch/LED headers right above where many cases have a mounting bracket (either an extendor or metal bulge). Either way it can occasionally make contact with the power or reset headers... take a guess what happens then.
There are a couple other parts of the board where these brackets and bulges can contact the board and create a short with exactly the same symptoms as you describe. The carboard eliminates this possibility.
I've had both problems in years past, figured it out with the carboard, and then either removing the brackets or putting some electrical tape over the bulges fixed the issue.

I had the same problem with another computer... All I had to do was tap the case and it would reset; now that I think about it, that was kind of handy!Snugglebear wrote:If you guys can't get some combo of components working I'd suggest taking the board out of the case and running it while on top of a piece of cardboard.
