Power down harddisks when closing Windows 2000

Post by janr »

I am wondering why windows 2000 always powers down the harddisks serveral times when shutting down or rebooting.
It goes off, on, off and sometimes back on. I don't think it is good for the harddrives. Is there a way to correct this?

2 HDD on IDE 66 controller.

Second: where can i use the IR-port for ? PDA ?

What HPT drivers are you using in Win2K? Try a different version.

As for the IR port PDAs are good for that like you said, or some printers and things like that.

I would use the ATA33 controller then or, just keep the computer running indefinitely :)
